Great prompt question by WordPress. I am a follower of Jesus Christ and personally don’t associate myself as religious. Relational yes both with Jesus and his followers! That gets me a label right off the bat so let fashion that on. As a follower of Jesus, does He want me to be religious? One thing we all know religion can be very impure! As Jesus entered the religious temple courtyard and found them selling animals for sacrifice! Jesus ran those impure religious people out over turning their money tables!

From there we all know for sure impure religion is not good! So what is pure religion? Since I am a follower of Jesus the Word made flesh we could consider his word in print the Bible! Let’s see what it says

James 1:²⁷ Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Let’s just say I have a long history of working in Africa and in here in the US with widows and orphans, the unspotted part now that’s the struggle! They say practice makes perfect! So yes I practice religion and fall way short of doing it perfectly! So let me keep practicing
