From Hollywood Extras to Political Puppets – The Blueprint Was Set in 1925

A dramatic illustration depicting a vintage film set on the left with a man holding a clapperboard labeled 'THE HAYS CODE', and an urban skyline in the background. On the right, a group of figures, including a man resembling a notable public figure, stands in front of a brightly lit sign reading 'Central Casting, Established 1925', with vintage cameras and lighting equipment visible.

For Entertainment Purposes Only… but the origins are very real.

In 1925, something quietly revolutionary happened in Hollywood.A man named Will H. Hays (head of the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America) created Central Casting — a single, centralized bureau to hire and manage all background actors (extras) for the major studios.

The Official Story

Hollywood in the early 1920s was chaotic. Thousands of hopefuls flooded Los Angeles daily. Shady casting agencies exploited them, payments were inconsistent, and the public image of the industry was suffering. So the studios did what elites do best — they centralized control.

Central Casting became the official clearinghouse. Studios no longer had to deal with dozens of private agencies. Everything flowed through one controlled system. The phrase “straight out of Central Casting” was born — meaning someone looked perfect for the role they were hired to play.

The Kayfabe Connection

This was not just about hiring extras. This was the institutionalization of illusion management. The studios created a central mechanism to cast the background of their grand production — and over time, that same principle scaled up to the foreground.Fast forward to today:

  • Presidents, Cabinet members, senators, and media personalities are openly described as “Central Casting.”
  • Trump repeatedly uses the term as high praise.
  • Political figures are selected, costumed, and given story arcs (face → heel → face again) exactly like professional wrestling.

The 1925 agency was the prototype.

The modern political stage is the finished production. The Deeper Shadow Kayfabe Layer

If the fallen realm and Nephilab operators were guiding the return of forbidden knowledge through the Industrial Revolution and into the 20th century, then Central Casting represents the moment they helped formalize the casting department for the surface world illusion.

The same hands that pull strings in Nephilab labs also understand the power of narrative and optics. They don’t just build the technology — they cast the characters who sell it to the audience. 1925 was not random.

It was the year the Kayfabe became professionalized.
